CHED CL HOLDS ORIENTATION ON THE EVALUATION INSTRUMENT FOR THE LUDIP

The Commission on Higher Education Central Luzon conducted an orientation on the Evaluation Instrument for Land Use Development and Infrastructure Plan (LUDIP) on January 20, 2023.

Pursuant to Section 7 of Republic Act No. 11396, otherwise known as the “State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) LUDIP Act” and the approved CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 11, series of 2020, this Act requires SUCs to prepare and implement a LUDIP that shall include the construction of dormitories for students and housing sites for employees.

The said orientation was attended by the CHED CL LUDIP TWG composed of representatives from concerned line agencies, organizations and local government units.

CHED CL RO-III Regional Director Dr. Leonida B. Sigua-Calagui warmly welcomed all the attendees as she expressed her gratitude and hoped for a harmonized interpretation of RA 11396 so that “we will all be marching in advance with one another as we take the leap in implementing the LUDIPs of SUCs in the region.”

The lecture was given by Asst. Dir. Jeanette E. Cruz of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD). Highlights of the discussion are the planning process in creating LUDIP, objectives of the monitoring and evaluation instrument, and infrastructure planning for SUCs.

For the upcoming days, CHED CL is set to conduct meetings and evaluation for twelve (12) SUCs in the region to discuss about their respective Land Use Development and Infrastructure Plan.
