Highlighting Research in Higher Education: CHED CL holds Regional Research Webinar
The Commission on Higher Education-Central Luzon (CHED-CL) held a Regional Research Webinar on May 19, 2022, via Zoom platform, which was attended by more than 400 higher education institution officials and personnel in Region 3.
The webinar with the theme, “Nourishing the Culture of Research Excellence in Higher Education,” is one of the lined-up series of activities for the celebration of the 2nd National Higher Education Day and 28th CHED Founding Anniversary. Dr. Genaro V. Japos, President of both the International Association of Multidisciplinary Research and the Philippine Association of Institutions for Research served as the Resource Speaker.
In her opening message, CHED CL Regional Director Leonida B. Sigua-Calagui emphasized that the activity is a way of recognizing the trifocal functions of education, which are research, instruction and community extension. Dr. Calagui also pointed out that this event also aims to enhance or strengthen the research culture of HEIs in Region 3.
Meanwhile, for his part, Dr. Japos shared a far-ranging discussion on the utilization of technology in research and introduced various softwares like Turnitin, Grammarly and Quillbot Premium. He also shared how to improve the research infrastructures of HEIs.
