CHED CENTRAL LUZON REGIONAL OFFICE, UNIFAST CONDUCTS 1st Quarter Conference and Visit to HEIs

The CHED Central Luzon Regional Office – III (CHED CL RO-III) conducted the 1st Quarter UniFAST Conference of CHED Central Luzon on March 11, 2022 at Quest Conference Hotel, Clark, Pampanga.

Dr. Leonida B. Sigua-Calagui, Director IV, virtually welcomed all participants and encouraged all to be cooperative and supportive in the full implementation of the programs of UniFAST.

The event was graced by Atty. Ryan L. Estevez, Officer-in-Charge, Office of the Executive Director, Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST) and attended by the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and and Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) focal persons of participating higher education institutions (HEIs) in Region III.

Atty. Estevez and the members of the UniFAST Central Office presented the amended guidelines and requirements on the implementation of TES for 2021-2022 and TDP 2020-2021. The adjustments were made and adopted by the UniFAST Board to further rationalize the standards and streamline the process for the TES-TDP Program’s efficient execution.

Visits of the UniFAST and CHED Central Luzon team, on the other hand was made on March 12, 2022. They visited EXACT Colleges of Asia, Arayat, Pampanga and Holy Cross College (HCC) – Sta. Ana, Pampanga, two (2) of the participating HEIs in Region III.

During the visit at Exact College of Asia, key officials led by Dr. Ferdinand G. Marcos showed their facilities and best practices in implementing the TES Program. Also, students and TES grantees, Ms. Vera Angela Dizon, Cielo Mith P. Dizon and Louise T. Tuazon, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the CHED and to the UniFAST in providing a program like TES to help students.

Key officials of Holy Cross College led by Dr. Elmer H. Nucum also presented their programs and best practices in implementing the TES Program. Mr. Jean Claude Catajan, 4th Year, BS Information Technology, together with Mr. Guilbert Cardova, Arlene Faye Mangune and Lae Santos 4th Year, BSED Major in Math students also shared their stories and journeys as TES grantees.

The CHED Central Luzon and UniFAST Central Office will continue its intensification drive to strengthen their partnership with stakeholders for the successful implementation of the program.
