WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER: CHED CL RO-III Conducts Hybrid Conference with Presidents/Heads, and Other Key Officials of HEIs

The CHED Central Luzon Regional Office III (CHED CL RO-III) conducted the Hybrid Conference with Presidents/Heads and other key officials of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the region on April 22, 2022, at The Orchid Gardens Resort Complex, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

CHED CL RO-III Regional Director, Dr. Leonida B. Sigua-Calagui, warmly welcomed the participants. She earnestly sought the support of the HEIs to realize the mandate of the Commission cascaded to the Regional Office. “We cannot do it alone in CHED, we need partners like you. Together, we will put the CHED-CL on top,” Dr. Calagui said.

The Philippine Higher Education Landscape and CHED CL RO-III Updates were presented by Dr. Calagui, including CHED CL RO-III’s reformulated mission and vision, the recalibration of its operations, accomplishments for the first quarter of 2022, and ways forward activities.

Dr. Reynato C. Arimbuyutan, President, Central Luzon Association of Higher Education Institutions in Region III (CLASSHEI), accepted the challenge of Dr. Calagui. He mentioned the importance of team effectiveness in achieving optimal results. “I am glad to accept the challenge. We will start by addressing the small, eventually the perennial and big problems,” Dr. Arimbuyutan said.

Winners of the 2022 CHED CL RO-III Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy (PADS) Innovative Competition were also announced during the event. Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) and the Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) were awarded as first and second placer, respectively.

The launching of the new CHED CL RO-III hymn (We Are All In This Together at CHEDRO-III), composed by Mr. Romeo dela Rosa, and awarding of the Institutional Recognition of Kolehiyo ng Subic also happened during the event.

In conclusion, the CHED CL RO-III Chief Education Program Specialist, Ms. Lora L. Yusi, extended her sincerest gratitude to everyone. “On behalf of the CHED CL RO-III, I want to thank all of you. This is a happy gathering. May the Easter spirit live in us which is joyful and hopeful,” Ms. Yusi said.
