Inculcating Filipino Values: CHED CL organizes Webinar on Patriotism, Integrity, Excellence and Spirituality
The Commission on Higher Education-Central Luzon (CHED-CL) organized a Webinar on Patriotism, Integrity, Excellence and Spirituality (PIES) on May 19, 2022, via the Zoom platform. This was attended by more than 300 HEI officials and personnel in the Region. The webinar is one of the lined-up series of activities for the celebration of the 2nd National Higher Education Day and 28th CHED Founding Anniversary.
In her welcome message, Dr. Leonida B. Sigua-Calagui, Regional Director, CHED CL, said that the webinar is timely as it capacitates the participants to deliver exemplary service through the appreciation of PIES. “This webinar on Patriotism, Integrity, Excellence and Spirituality (PIES) will surely capacitate everyone in this webinar knowing that the topic is relevant and timely.”
Mr. Audie Masigan, who belongs to the select group of Certified Facilitators of Kouzes and Posner’s The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership®, served as the resource person on PIES. The activity reinforced the PIES values to the participants to be responsive as public servants regardless of the adversities they may face in the performance of their duties. The four (4) values, collectively termed as the public sector core values, are also deemed applicable to the higher education sector. Mr. Masigan challenged all HEIs to integrate these core values in instruction, research and in all facets of higher education.
